Company Overview
Having started from humble beginnings, Hatch Lighting was founded in 1985—the first office operating out of its founder’s house. Today, Hatch Lighting has more than 20 employees, most of whom work out of their headquarters in Florida’s Tampa Bay area. Their workforce includes a remote sales team that operates across the US, and a customer base spanning 6000 across the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia.
Their specialty is designing and manufacturing power supplies and solutions for the lighting industry, which includes everything from LED drivers and ballasts to transformers and surge protection devices. Hatch Lighting makes innovative and high-quality products for the lighting industry and, additionally, they focus on finding ways to reduce their global footprint. To that end, they partner with One Tree Planted, ensuring that every processed order results in a donation that helps plant trees across Florida.
The Challenge
Through the years, Hatch Lighting has had to contend with one overall challenge: Its own expansion. In the main, this manifested in repeated attempts to use myriad systems to handle their growing CRM, ERP, and phone needs. However, due to a lack of integration between platforms, Hatch Lighting employees had to often resort to downloading information on one system in order to re-feed it to another. The result was a perfect recipe for losing track of the very data that employees were taking the time to painstakingly download and transfer.
In 2020, Hatch Lighting tried upgrading to yet another phone system while attempting to make the leap onto cloud-based applications. When that failed, teams were left trying to operate in the field without stable access to the system and, as a result, were unable to understand where customers sat within the sales lifecycle. Following updates to their systems in 2021 led to underwhelming solutions and a commitment to fully migrate onto cloud-based platforms.
Looking at the best cloud-based platforms out there, Hatch Lighting’s primary objective was to integrate its ERP and CRM requirements onto one operating system. Safe to say, NetSuite checked all the boxes. But when it came to implementation, their search for the right partner took precedence. They wanted a partner who’d not only be able to handle their customization needs but who’d be consistently available throughout the whole implementation phase.
